Life here

A day at Autumn Ridge

Brochures describe amenities. Residents describe Tuesdays. Here is the honest version: three meals you did not cook, something on the calendar if you want it, and nobody minding if you would rather sit in the garden.

Dining

Nearly twenty years of serving Autumn Ridge

Ashley Brissette is our Certified Dietary Manager and has served Autumn Ridge for nearly twenty years. She holds quarterly menu meetings where residents say what they want to eat, which is why the menus change and why the desserts are taken seriously.

  • Three chef-inspired meals every day, served restaurant style
  • Menus built with nutrition for older adults specifically in mind
  • Quarterly resident menu meetings that shape the food
  • Family are welcome to join you for a meal

Activities

There is always something happening here

Carla Schlueter has been creating meaningful activity programs for more than a decade and is also a Certified Alzheimer's Facilitator. She understands that no two residents are alike, and neither are their interests.

Life at Autumn Ridge includes activities, entertainment, outings, social events, fitness opportunities, games, creative programs and community celebrations. The calendar is designed around residents' interests and abilities, with ways to stay active, try something new, spend time with friends or simply have fun.

For Carla, activities are about more than filling a calendar. They are about connection, purpose, laughter and experiences residents look forward to.

Bingo and trivia

The two most requested, in that order. Spelling bees have a following as well.

Outings and trips

Day trips that leave the building, from local exhibits to the St. Louis Senior Olympics.

Live entertainment

Monthly music and holiday parties, plus socials and community-wide events.

Fitness and wellness

Regular fitness and wellness activities, and educational programs through the year.

The grounds

Seven and a half acres, and people who use them

Eric Miller has been our Maintenance Director for twelve years and runs a preventative maintenance program so things get fixed before they break. That is what keeps the grounds worth walking.

The garden

Raised beds and flower borders that residents keep themselves. Albert built his after leaving behind a greenhouse.

Paths and open ground

Room to walk without leaving the property, and somewhere to sit outside that is not a car park.

Common rooms

Where the bingo, the live music and most of the accidental friendships happen.

Therapy

Physical, occupational and speech therapy, in-house

Rehabilitation usually fails on logistics rather than effort. Three appointments a week across the county is a lot to ask. Ours happen in the building, delivered by people who also see how you are doing at dinner.

Services

The everyday things, handled

  • On-site beauty and barber shop
  • Scheduled transportation to appointments and shopping
  • Regular doctor visits into the community
  • Weekly housekeeping, linen and laundry service
  • Apartment maintenance whenever something goes wrong

Wondering about something specific?

Mealtimes, guest policies, whether the shower has a seat in it. Ask your question and get an answer for your situation.

Meal times, visiting arrangements, apartment accessibility and religious services still need confirmation from the community. Call before relying on an assumption.

A simpler next step

Ready to see if Autumn Ridge feels like home?

Tour the community, meet the people who make it special, or call us with a question. We will help you take the next step at the pace that feels right.

My mother needs help with her medications. Is that something you do?

Yes. That falls under our Residential Care level, which is state licensed and includes medication management along with 24-hour associates on site. Would it help if I walked you through what changes between Independent Living and Residential Care?

Yes, and what does it cost?

A real exchange pattern. Ask your own above.
