Autumn Ridge Residences’ Christmas Celebrations
After a challenging year, seniors at Autumn Ridge Residences relaxed during a festive party and luncheon.
Why is it important for seniors to relive holiday traditions?
We know our residents can benefit from reminiscing about memorable past experiences they have spent bonding with friends and family members; they also enjoy spending time with their fellow residents during well-planned activities.
What did we see at our Community Christmas Program?
Our own Herculaneum seniors performed for our Christmas Program on December 21st and 22nd, 2020. They had been practicing ever since our associates encouraged them to sign up this October!
One associate wore a Christmas tree costume while residents sang around her for their rendition of “Rocking around the Christmas Tree.”
Watch our residents and associate dance along as they play handmade instruments!
Other songs from the show included “Oh Come All Ye Faithful,” “Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer,” and “Winter Wonderland.” The bell choir performed “Jingle Bells,” “We Wish You a Merry Christmas,” and “Noel.” Our seniors even played “We Wish You a Merry Christmas” with kazoos!
Multiple residents wrote their own Christmas-themed poems; Ted read a Bible verse about the birth of Jesus and Carol shared a poem she had written. A team of residents also dressed as Biblical characters for their Wise Men skit.
What was special about our luncheon?
Our culinary team led by Ashley, our Dietary Manager, spent all morning of December 23rd preparing an appealing buffet of hors d’oeuvres, sliced and skewered fruit, seafood, and decorative desserts.
While they were admiring the creative display and enjoying their food, residents were excited to see that Santa even stopped by to see them. We have all kinds of great visitors!
