At Autumn Ridge Residences we believe in celebrating moments big and small. Milestone birthdays are one way we recognize the amazing lives and contributions of the residents who call us home.
We’re excited to announce that resident Ruthie B. turns 100 on March 23!
Ruth, “Ruthie”, a lifelong Missouri resident, was born in 1922 in St. Louis where she grew up with her two brothers, Carl and Elmer. As a child, Ruth loved playing the piano and played in the Beaumont High School band.
While working for Graham Paper Company in St. Louis during WWII, Ruth began writing to soldiers in the war. This is how she met her husband Clifford. They were married on June 22, 1940, and went on to have two children, Kenneth and Janet. They lived in and were active members of the Crystal City community and attended Immanuel Lutheran Church.
Ruth and Cliff traveled many times to Holland to spend time with close friends that Cliff met during his service to our country.
Ruth is now the proud grandparent to five granddaughters, six great-grandsons, and one great-granddaughter.
When asked about her secret to longevity and any words of wisdom, Ruth shared that her brother lived to be 104 and her father, 107. Ruth says that she believes in living life, “by and for God.”
“Ruth and her family are truly treasured members of the local community,” says Marie Stelling, Community Relations Director for Autumn Ridge Residences. “We’re so happy to celebrate this milestone with her.”
Please join the entire Autumn Ridge Residences community in wishing Ruthie a very happy birthday!
We’d be honored to celebrate your milestones, too.
